My name is Maria, and I'm a mother of two young children. Our family has been volunteering with New York City Parks and Recreation for the past year, and it's been an incredible experience for all of us.

As parents, we want to instill in our children a sense of responsibility, community, and love for nature. And volunteering with Parks and Rec has allowed us to do just that. We've planted trees, picked up trash, and helped maintain our local park. And through it all, we've seen our kids develop a greater appreciation for the environment and a deeper understanding of the importance of giving back.

But volunteering with Parks and Rec isn't just about the work. It's also about the people we've met along the way. We've made friends with other volunteers, park staff, and community members who share our love for nature and our commitment to making our city a better place.
