WIOA Can is an initiative with a clear message that reflects a broader strategy that the we are using to pursue bold and innovative actions to strengthen our workforce infrastructure. While we have been challenging the workforce system to innovate and empowering practitioners to do new things, we recognize that some of our programs and policies may be perpetuating systemic barriers. All levels of the workforce system – federal, state, and local, can take the requisite steps to address and remove those barriers. Doing so will position the workforce system to be a powerful tool for connecting under-resourced and underrepresented workers and communities to good jobs created by a generational investment in our nation.
Through this feedback page, we need your input to make this a robust place where we can share local, state examples of how workforce partners are leveraging the flexibilities of Workforce Innovation. We look forward to hearing more from you about what you are doing at the state and local level to innovate, to drive equity and job quality, and open up opportunities – not just today, but for the next generation of workers in our country.
This is an initiative to pursue bold and innovative actions to strengthen our workforce infrastructure. Through this initiative, we want to tout the flexibility of and dispel myths around perceived barriers of WIOA, and we want to elevate innovative uses of WIOA funds. We want to learn from state and local leaders about what you are doing at the state and local levels to further innovation, equity, and job quality. Thank you for sharing your expertise and stories with the greater workforce system!
