The Salt Lake City Public Lands Department has acquired a new piece of land and is planning to develop it into a park. The Public Lands Department has a range of park amenities it can offer for this project but due to limited budget, only a few can be included at this time. These amenities provide a diverse range of options that appeal to different user groups, supporting an inclusive and functional park design. Residents can rank them based on their preferences to align with community needs.

Sustainability
The Public Lands Department is collaborating with the SLC Sustainability Department to ensure the location identified for Green Park is safe and sustainably developed. To do so, the Salt Lake City Sustainability Department plans to apply for an EPA grant to help fund the cleanup. This grant will require an open comment window of 45 days. The public comment box will need to be embedded on the page, separately from the survey.

Transportation and Safety
A section of the open space will be dedicated to a pedestrian and cycling path that will run alongside the park. The Salt Lake City Transportation Division will collaborate with the Public Lands Department on the public engagement and feedback portion of the project, as both teams gather input regarding the options the City is considering.
Due to recent auto/pedestrian injuries in a nearby intersection, the Transportation Division team will gather feedback on how safe residents feel traveling to the project site. Transportation Division staff hope they can determine hotspots where the public feels unsafe and implement traffic calming measures based on this data.
